JEFF THOMAS
I have made a career of combining video production and spending as many days outside, as possible. As an award winning outdoor & adventure producer with 20 years of experience, I have worn nearly every hat. I have worked with an extensive list of outdoor brands, resort destinations, production companies & media agencies. Past roles include, co-producer/director at Switchback Entertainment (2010-2015), where I co-produced & co-directed over 5 seasons of Salomon Freeski TV. Before Switchback I produced a variety of my own independent films (2003-2008) while then co-directing/editing/shooting for Poor Boyz Productions, winning multiple awards including ‘Ski Movie of the Year’, Every Day is a Saturday. (2008-2010)
More recently, (2015-2018) I was director of video production establishing a successful video production department and strategy at Origin Outside (now MMGY Origin), an outdoor sports digital media and advertising agency. With Origin, I co-concepted, produced and co-directed, ‘Best Use of Video Marketing’ in 2017 (NSAA Awards) for the Whistler Blackcomb Resort movie, MAGNETIC, alongside countless other campaigns, films and video strategies for brands throughout North America.
For the past 6 years (2018 and beyond), I have continued to merge brand and storytelling - producing and directing over 40 short films and strategic video content for a variety of brands, agencies and partners, including a handful of feature length winter-sports films with BLANK Collective Films, HEAD Winter-sports and Salomon. In 2021, I was lucky enough to once again win ‘Ski Movie of the Year’, with Tales From Cascadia. In 2023 & 2024, the program continued at a fast pace producing & directing 7 new winter sports films UNIFIED, 23.4 Degrees, Fixed Grip & Mountain State 2.0 in 2023 & BEYOND, Caldor & Elemental in 2024, alongside hours of four season brand & commercial content.
